The problem
Most budgeting apps drown you in dashboards, charts, and pestering notifications. The data is right there — but the next decision isn’t any clearer. We wanted an app that ends a session by giving you back a few minutes, not adding three more chores.
The product
Piggly is a deliberately small budgeting app. You categorize spending, set monthly category goals, and the app surfaces recurring charges, drift against goals, and the next decision worth thinking about — and then it gets out of the way.
Features
- Spend log. Manual entry with smart category recall, plus optional CSV import from your bank’s exports.
- Category goals. Soft monthly targets per category, with rollover for the irregular ones (groceries, gas, eating out).
- Recurring detection. The app flags charges that look like subscriptions you may have forgotten.
- Glance view. One screen, current month, the three numbers worth looking at — designed to be checked in 10 seconds.
Stack
- iOS: SwiftUI with SwiftData for the local store.
- Privacy: account-optional. Default mode keeps everything on-device.
- Distribution: App Store with StoreKit 2 for the paid tier.
Status
Piggly is in development.
